Rio Grande del Norte National Monument
Our sunrise hot air balloon flights take us over the beautiful landscape of the Rio Grande del Norte National monument. The Sangre de Christo mountains provide a backdrop to the dramatic Rio Grande Gorge cutting through the expansive, Sage-covered Taos Plateau. Depending on the time of year (September through December) and the weather conditions, we will often descend into the gentle air currents of the gorge to fly just above the river, offering a truly unparalleled balloon flight and perspective of the Rio Grande flowing quietly through the 600 ft deep canyon. Taos, as far as we know, offers the only opportunity for hot air balloon flights in a National Monument and we are grateful to be able to share the most beautiful flight in the Country with people from all over the world. In addition to being a beautiful place to fly, it is also a safe area to fly with very few power lines or obstructions, and plenty of wide open landscape. We love what we do and endeavor to make each and every flight an unforgettable experience with memories to inspire you for a long time to come. Come fly with us !
“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”
-Leonardo Da Vinci
